Understanding the Misunderstanding

It is said that a few wise words can bring a great change in your life far more than what thousands of words can, so can this quote. The Quote here in the picture is something that we all must have dealt with at some point or the other.  A misunderstanding can create such unforgivable situations around those going through it that all their emotions of love, respect, bonding becomes a thing of the past and what takes its place are the emotions of hatred, jealousy and detachment.

Often the two main causes of a misunderstanding are: Lack of Communication and a Third person. But the latter plays a major role using the former. People out of jealousy plant incomplete information which is often manipulated to create strife between people. This strife, which ‘they’ feel is their victory is actually the defeat of their morals and values which put them down to such a level that they can’t rise above these disgusting ways of manipulating things.

The repercussions of a misunderstanding can be very severe and can cost people their relationships with their family, friends etc. Now when there is a problem, obviously a solution has to be looked for and in case the solution ceases to exist then a new solution has to be invented out of the problem. As Quoted, “If the Opportunity doesn’t knock the door, then build the door”. The most common solutions in such cases are:

  •       COMMUNICATE: The more you communicate during the times of misunderstandings, the more you get a chance to clear all the reasons for it.

  •              SPEAK DIRECTLY: Often people shy away from talking to one another during such a phase and use a third person as a communication medium. STOP that at once and talk DIRECTLY as the third person may add more fuel to the fire (if (s)he is not a well wisher of yours or is least bothered about what the final consequences be) and all the attempts then would go waste.

  •       AVOID DEVIATIONS: People don’t come to the point directly while communicating which again heightens up the level of misunderstandings. So Speak, but only what is necessary for the moment, too much speaking can be counter – productive as well.

Lastly I’d conclude that Life is too short to hold grudges against someone who has been good to you all this while. TALK and RESOLVE your issues and you shall find the reasons of misunderstanding were not even worth holding the grudges. And most importantly, next time you decide to give way to misunderstandings just keep in mind how useless was it the last time you encountered it!
